Despite the name of our Interior Styling Studio being ‘Black Arrow’ there is nothing we love more than an all-white interior! There is just something so stunning and calming about a floor-to-ceiling white palette. (Cue OutKast ‘So Fresh, So Clean’.) Whilst we totally understand that an all-white interior is probably not the most practical option for most people and families and that many folks would be scared off by the pure maintenance that would go hand in hand with this chroma-free scheme, we simply can’t supress our love for this light and airy look! Besides, all-white means you can just bleach that stain right back to brand new, right!?

If you are brave enough to make the commitment to an all-white scheme, here are some important tips to remember when styling your space. The last thing you want to end up with is a cold and sterile home so be sure to add loads of layers and textures. We’re talking rugs, throws, cushions and wall art. Mix up the textures of these pieces from cable knit throws to linen cushions and chunky woven rugs to macramé wall hangings! The more layers and textures you introduce, the more your all-white space will come alive and feel warm and inviting rather than flat and lifeless. Add a mix of matte white and gloss white finishes. Whether it’s mixing up your matte white wall paint with a gloss trim or adding a matte white vase to a gloss white coffee table – ensure a balance of the two to avoid an overload of one. Lastly, there are hundreds of different shades of white (move over 50 Shades of Grey!) so be sure to allow a mix into your space. It is OK to mix warm and natural shades which lend themselves more to the creamy beige tones with cool shades which are more grey in tone. It’s all about finding a balance that creates visual interest and feels homely at the same time!
